yay or nay

I am obsessed with this painting. It is on the 5th floor of this department store, back in the corner along with some other weird art, a sparse antique selection and stale kimonos. It is gigantic, like 3' by 5', huge. And it is only $350! How would we get it home? How much would that cost? Nate wants it too, but are we crazy? Help!

It is finally cooling off a little. We actually went out yesterday and didn't come home and immediately jump in the shower. And Alex wore pajamas to bed for the first time.

Yay! It's fabulous. Okay, find out from the department store how they can ship it back to the states. Remember our 200 year old marble horse we had shipped from China? No problem. It was air freighted and arrived before we got home. It cost about $100 U.S. and it's very heavy. They go by weight, I think. Think about it. Do they have "lay away"? Ha!

I give a hearty YAY. I think if you can afford it, it is really great, and it will be a very memorable piece of art to say the least!

Is haggling over the price an option? I say get it either way. It is beautiful, and you will have it forever to remind you of your adventure. YAY!

I think if it is still there next time Nate gets paid, we will get it. Haggling might be an option, good suggestion! It is quite lovely, and possibly even a good investment- you never know with weird art in department stores! Thanks for all your support!! I haven't met people here yet that are very into art, so they all think we are nuts!
